Our vice presidential nominee is making victory in November less likely the more he continues to praise our opponent John McCain. The McCain campaign wants this election to be about personality, not issues, because McCain knows this is the only way for him to win, and they’re already using Joe Biden’s praise of McCain against us:
[The McCain campaign is] pointing out the numerous times Biden has expressed great admiration for McCain, calling him “one of my heroes” on the Senate floor nearly a year ago and, at another point, telling Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” that he would be honored to run for president on the same ticket as McCain.
And Biden continues to refer to McCain as a “friend”. This has to stop now if we’re to win in November, so please contact the Obama campaign and ask them why Biden continues to unnecessarily praise their opponent, John McCain, who:
- Had once opposed Bush’s irresponsible tax-cuts, but now criticizes Obama for wanting to pay for the record deficit Republicans have created over the last 8 years.
- Has stolen Obama’s message of bringing positive change to Washington, while having voted with Bush 95% of the time.
- Allow his vice presidential pick to stonewall an ethics investigation, lie to the American public about the “Bridge to Nowhere”, and decieve us about selling a plane used to transport prisoners on eBay for a profit.
- Denounce the “The constant partisan rancor that stops us from solving these problems”, while allowing his party to, as usual, sneer at Democrats at the Republican National Convention.
- Celebrated his birthday with George W. Bush as Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.
I don't care that Biden considers McCain a "friend", I care about winning in November and Biden is only making it harder by praising McCain when he needs to focus on the issues.
I ask you, how do we get Biden to stop?
Updated: Here's Biden doing an excellent job (h/t blue jersey mom), I hope he keeps it up:
